Instructions

FOR INFORMATION ONLY

You are Robin Smith, aged 35. You have asthma and take your inhalers regularly. You are otherwise fit and well. Over the last few days you have developed a cough, a tight feeling in chest and shortness of breath. You have no chest pain. You have no swelling or pain in your legs and you have not been on any recent travel. Your cough is non-productive of phlegm and your inhaler does help.

The students should examine your chest and your hands. They might also look into your eyes and neck. Please sit and relax and await to follow instructions. Please let the candidate know if you are in any pain (which you won’t be unless they examine you badly). You should be wearing a hospital gown with suitable underwear and a sleeveless t-shirt.
